Feed sources

Connect your products two ways — a Shopify store or a pasted product feed URL — watch the import, reconnect a source, and let your designs refresh as prices and sales change.

Two ways to connect a source

A source is where Adorn reads your products from. You have two connect paths, and you can run more than one at once: connect a Shopify store, or paste a public product feed URL with no Shopify needed. Both connections are read-only, and you can disconnect anytime.

Connect a Shopify store

Connecting Shopify installs our app and imports your products automatically. We only ask for read access to your products.

  1. Enter your full store domain, for example your-store.myshopify.com, and select Connect store.
  2. Adorn opens Shopify in a new tab to authorize read access. Approve the install there, then return to Adorn.
  3. The Connection status panel picks up automatically and moves through Connected, Importing your catalog, and finally Your catalog is ready.

Shopify runs the authorization in a real browser tab rather than inside Adorn, because Shopify rejects embedded logins. Complete the install in that tab and come back — the status panel does the rest.

Paste a product feed URL

No Shopify? Point Adorn at any public product feed. A Google Shopping XML feed works well. This is the fastest way to start designing without connecting a store.

  1. If this is your first source, give your workspace a name (for example Acme Homewares) so Adorn can create it.
  2. Paste the full feed URL, starting with https://, then select Connect feed.
  3. Adorn samples the feed, imports your products, and reports progress on the Your sources panel.

If a pasted feed is missing fields Adorn needs, it tells you exactly which ones — for example “Your feed is missing: price, image_link.” Add those fields to your feed and connect again. Nothing is saved from a failed attempt.

Watching the import

The Your sources panel lists every source you have connected — Shopify, a product feed, or Meta — as its own row, so one source can never mask another's progress. Each row shows a label and a live state.

  • Connected — starting import: the source is linked and the first import is queued
  • Importing your catalog: your products are being pulled in
  • Ready: the source is imported and available to design against

Use Add another source to layer on a further source at any time, for example to add Shopify alongside a feed, or to connect Meta once your catalog is ready.

Reconnecting a source

If a source hits a problem it stops importing and shows a clear reason rather than failing silently. The message tells you what to do next.

  • Connection lost: your access expired — reconnect the source to restore it
  • Import failed: try again
  • No products found: the store or feed came back empty
  • Missing required product fields: fix the feed and reconnect

For a store, the status panel offers a Reconnect button that re-runs the install. Your templates, rules, and priority order are never touched by a reconnect.

Your designs stay fresh

Once a source is connected, Adorn keeps it in step with your catalog. As prices drop and sales start or end, your designed images re-render on their own, so you never redo per-product creative work. To serve those designs in your Meta ads, connect Meta next.
