Import a design from Figma

Checked against the app on October 17, 2026

Bring a frame from a Figma file into a template as its starting layout, from the Templates panel in the editor.

Where to start

The import runs inside the editor. Open the template you want the design in, press Templates on the tool rail, then press Import from Figma.

The editor's Templates panel, with the Import from Figma button marked.
The Templates panel opens beside the tool rail.

The frame replaces that template's design as a draft, and nothing goes live until you publish.

Paste a link and connect Figma

Paste the link to a Figma file, or to one frame in it, in Figma link, then press Load frames.

The first time, Adorn asks you to connect your Figma account. Press Connect Figma and approve access in the tab that opens, then come back and press I've connected, continue.

The Import from Figma window, with the Connect Figma button marked.
Approve access in Figma's own tab, then come back to this window.

Choose a frame and a size

Adorn lists the file's top-level frames with their sizes. Choose one, then choose its Target ratio, and Adorn makes the template's other sizes from it.

The Import from Figma window's frames, with the Import frame button marked.
The shaded row is the frame you chose.

Press Import frame. Adorn names the template it is about to change, and Replace design brings the frame in. Your other templates stay as they are, and you can undo the import.

See what changed on the way in

When the import finishes, the dialog lists what Adorn changed so the design fits, under headings such as Came in as pictures. If nothing changed, it reads Clean import.

The Import from Figma window's report, with the Done button marked.
Each heading groups one kind of change, with a line for each.

Press Done, then refine the design on the canvas and publish it when you are ready.
