Design variations

Checked against the app on October 17, 2026

Test another version of a template's design against the design itself: create a variant, then give it its own colors, badge rules or wording.

What a variant is

A variant is another version of a template's design that you test against the design itself, which the app calls Control. A variant changes only what you set on it: its colors, its badge rules or its wording.

Variants sit with the template's rules, under A/B variant testing. Open the template in the editor and press Rules, or choose Edit what it applies to on its card.

Create a variant

  1. Under A/B variant testing, press Create A/B variant.
The template's A/B variant testing, with the Create A/B variant button marked.
Each variant you create is listed under the design it is tested against.

The new variant gets a name you can change. Until you set at least one option on it, it says it will look the same as Control, and the cross beside it removes it.

Change a variant

Turn on Override colors to give the variant its own Frame color, Sale badge color, % off badge color and Canvas background. Override badge rules sets its Badge type and Minimum discount to show a badge, and Override messaging sets its Category headline and Sale wording.

Each color you set here applies to this variant only.

Press Start test under your variants, and the test begins when you publish.
